An 8-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle going down Nahar Jordan Avenue from Ramat Beit Shemesh neighborhood A to Level B apparently lost his brakes and entered the taxi stand at the entrance to Level B.

Rescue team MDA drivers who arrived at the scene gave the child first aid on the spot and he was taken to the hospital in moderate to serious condition for further treatment.

"Rescue Team" volunteers Elad Pinz, Shimon Lieberman and Gabi Itzkovitz add: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a cyclist, an 8-year-old boy lying on the sidewalk suffering from head and limb injuries after crashing into a wall while riding.

Together with other MDA medics and paramedics and a rescue team, we gave him initial medical assistance including immobilization and dressings.

An MDA intensive care vehicle evacuated him in moderate condition for further treatment in the trauma room at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem."
