MK Kati Shatrit (Likud), a resident of the city of Beit Shemesh, last night filed a lawsuit in court against the "Yediot Ahronoth" group and a number of its letters.

The lawsuit was filed following the publication of a news item that claimed that Sheetrit worked to thwart the appointment of Avi Cohen Skelly (also a resident of Beit Shemesh) to the position of "projector of the north" in order to promote her son Moshe Sheetrit to the position of deputy mayor.

In the lawsuit, Sheetrit's lawyers write that these are false claims and demand to compensate her in the amount of NIS 300,000 for defamation.
