Due to the postponement of the local elections, the Knesset approved a law that allows civil servants who run in the elections and go on leave, to return to their duties up to one month from the final election date to be determined.

While Mayor Bloch received an extension in her position and the candidate Abutbol remained to serve as deputy minister, the mayoral candidate Shmulik Greenberg left his professional position as director of the ultra-orthodox education department in the Jerusalem Municipality for the purpose of running.

The Halat period has ended and now, with the help of the approved law, it was possible for him to return to his position until the elections, but Greenberg decided to give up his position and continue his activities in the city of Beit Shemesh.
