The Knesset was in turmoil until recently over the "dormitory law," which allows for admission and subsidies in dormitories for children of young men, after the expiration of the draft exemption law, which also abolished eligibility, when the opposition fought the law and called it "funding for evasion."

This coming Monday, the Finance Committee will discuss the transfer of approximately 6.2 billion NIS to the Ministry of Construction and Housing, headed by Minister Goldknopf.

The opposition is furious with the ministry following the latest "discounted apartment" lottery in the city of Beit Shemesh, claiming that it discriminates against reserve servicemen and the middle class in favor of the Haredi sector.

MK Vladimir Bialik of the Yesh Atid party called: "Join the opposition in the Finance Committee for a determined and genuine struggle to favor reserve service members in housing programs and stop the plundering of public funds by shameless ultra-Orthodox politicians."
