Tonight, around 11:00 p.m., a fire broke out in an apartment on Rival Street in the Ramat Beit Shemesh 2 neighborhood.

The tenant who reported the fire was ordered to leave the house and turn off the electricity, a fire team under the command of Lahav Roi and Kanin quickly arrived on the scene, entered the apartment and extinguished the source of the fire which was focused on the bathroom and ventilated the smoke.

There were no casualties, damage was caused to the building.

Combustion investigator Major Moshe Yanir said: "The fire most likely started from the vent (fan) of the toilets. According to the findings on the spot, it appears that a heat load was created on the vent, due to a blockage of the air exhaust opening, and as a result the device heated up and caught fire, causing a fire."
