Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir decided that the candidate for the position of Police Commissioner is Superintendent Avshalom Peled, who is currently serving as Police Commissioner. The appointment will be submitted to the Committee for Senior Appointments and approved by the government.

Chief Avshalom Peled, 63 years old, married and father of three, started his career in the Israel Police about 40 years ago and served in a variety of positions.

Between 1998 - 2002 he served as commander of the Beit Shemesh police station.
