At around 9:00 PM on Saturday, a report was received of an elderly woman in her 80s with a bruised head and bleeding after apparently being beaten while sleeping in her bed. Police from the Beit Shemesh police station in the Jerusalem district and medical teams were called to the scene and began investigating the incident.

As a result of this violence against her, the victim was allegedly taken to the hospital for medical treatment, where it was diagnosed, among other things, that there was a fracture in one of her neck vertebrae.

As part of the investigation into the case, which began immediately, police and forensic investigators collected various findings in the victim's apartment and the surrounding area. In the meantime, suspicion arose of the involvement of a resident of the area, and an arrest warrant was issued against him by the Court of Appeals at the request of investigators from the Beit Shemesh police station.

Last night, the suspect (67) was located near his residence, arrested by patrol officers and taken to the police station for questioning. This evening, he will be brought before the court for a hearing on extending his detention in order to continue and complete the investigation into the violence.
